Qualifications

I am registered by the HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist and chartered by the British Psychological Society Division of Counselling Psychology. I hold full accreditation as a BABCP Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist. I am a qualified relationship and psychosexual therapist. I am registered as a Couple Therapy for Depression IAPT Practitioner, Supervisor and Trainer.

I hold the doctoral level Qualification in Counselling Psychology (Division of Counselling Psychology, British Psychological Society: Independent Route: 2009). I have completed the London Diploma in Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy (Distinction: 2017) and have a Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (2006: Distinction) from Massey University in New Zealand. I completed an MSc in Counselling Psychology (2000: Distinction) from the University of East London and a Diploma in Counselling from CSCT in London (1998). I also have a first degree in Psychology from the University of Warwick (1984).

As part of my professional and ethical commitment to maintain and develop my skills I engage in regular Continuing Professional Development. This includes taking specialist short courses, writing for publication and presenting at professional conferences and at training events.

I have a particular interest in the experience of counselling for trainee therapists and counsellors, and in working with cultural diversity. My publications include a book chapter (third edition due to be published in 2018/19), papers on working with Maori clients, living and working overseas, and research into therapy for counsellors.
